Dryden Sertoma Scholarship

The Dryden SERTOMA Club is pleased to sponsor one $400 college scholarships for graduating seniors of Dryden High School.  The scholarships are awarded to two outstanding individuals who combine academic success, leadership and a commitment to the community.  The scholarship recipients will be announced at the annual Dryden High School awards ceremony in June. (Proof of college enrollment will be required prior to the funds being distributed.) To see information about our past recipients, go to


SERTOMA stands for SERvice TO MAnkind.  SERTOMA clubs work at the international, national, and local levels, providing a variety of sponsorship activities.  These activities include: speech and hearing clinics, camps for children with communicative disorders, and sheltered workshops for disabled youth.  SERTOMA members are men and women from all walks of life who have a common bond of helping others. 


Locally, Dryden SERTOMA has 27 members and sponsors a variety of community activities: the youth soccer program, free hearing screenings, Adopt-A-Highway clean-up along route 13, and a bicycle/skateboard safety rodeo. In addition, the club contributes funds quarterly to the Dryden Kitchen Cupboard, and uses the Dryden SERTOMA Community Grant Fund to award several grants each year for local community activities or needs. Recent grant recipients are the Dryden Music Booster Club Guest Artist Series, Dryden Community Dinners, Dryden Community Center Café, Dryden Beautification Brigade, and My Brother’s Keeper Sleeping Bag Group.   • Complete the application included with this correspondence and write the required essay
  • Submit the application and essay to Mr. Laszlo Engel at the Dryden High School Guidance Office by May 15, 2016.
  • Alternatively, the application and essay may be handwritten (be sure it is legible) and submitted to Mr. Laszlo Engle at the Dryden High School Guidance Office by May 15, 2016
